Terms & Conditions for The Trafford Centre

Wheelchair users

I agree to (please read carefully):

  • To use the equipment only in the confines of The Trafford Centre, and not to leave the premises (entrance in to car park and outdoor precincts are not permitted)
  • To use the lifts to access different levels of The Trafford Centre and I will not use the equipment on any escalators or stairs
  • Wheelchairs to be returned 30 minutes before the Mall closes, failure to do so may result in your deposit not being refunded.
  • To take all due care and attention whilst using the equipment, including:
    • a) Maintaining a speed that is comparable to walking pace: and
    • b) Avoiding contact with other objects and other people
  • To use the equipment at my own risk, and that I will be responsible for the cost of any damage to the equipment caused by me, while the equipment is in my possession
  • That if I suffer any damage or injury as a result of, or in the course of using the equipment, whether or not the injury or damage is caused or contributed to by any negligence on the part of The Trafford Centre, I will release The Trafford Centre from any liability to me
  • That if any other person or entity suffers injury or damage as a result of, or in the course of my use of the equipment, whether or not the injury or damage is caused or contributed to by any negligence on the part of The Trafford Centre, I will indemnify The Trafford Centre against any resultant liability.
  • We will only process this data for the purpose of wheelchair hire and will not pass on your information to anyone else. We will not send any marketing information and will ensure your data is secured in line with current data protection legislation. All the data will be deleted when it is no longer required. When using the equipment, I agree that I know how to and can:

  • Apply brakes
  • Adjust the foot rest
  • Negotiate a Door Opening
  • Negotiate an Automatic Door
  • Using outdoors
  • Negotiating Kerbs (Always use Lowered / ‘Drop Kerbs’)

I also agree that I know what to do in an emergency and will stay aware and courteous to other members of the public.

If you are unclear on any of the above please ask a member of the team.

I acknowledge that I am familiar with the equipment, and that I am capable of operating the equipment in a safe manner.

Mobility scooter users:

  • In case of an Emergency where I may be required to vacate an area, I will proceed to the nearest available exit. If unable to do so, I will alternatively proceed to the nearest safe refuge located in most core stairwells where I will be located by a member of Trafford Centre while conducting their sweeps of the area. Fire and Emergency Exit signs are clearly marked along all routs in the Centre, however if additional help is needed I will approach a member of staff for assistance.

  • Reverse/Stop
  • Increase / Decrease the Speed
  • Operate the Horn
  • Operate the Lights / Indicators
  • Turn Left / Right
  • Reverse Left / Right
  • Negotiate a Door Opening
  • Negotiate an Automatic Door
  • Enter / Exit a Lift
  • Negotiating Kerbs (Always use Lowered / ‘Drop Kerbs’)

I also agree that I know what to do in an emergency and will stay aware and courteous to other members of the public.
